Micah Ofstedahl
PACIFIC NORTHWEST
Micah Ofstedahl creates hyper-surreal op-art landscapes by painting interdimensional and biological forms to warp the land and sky. His careful attention to detail and uncanny control of the medium provide a sharp, high definition view into the surreality, beauty, and mind-bending complexity of the natural world.
Ofstedahl studied sculpture and ceramics at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Now working in acrylic paint, he is deeply influenced by anatomical and biological illustration, citing Enrst Heckle as one of his greatest sources. Recently, Ofstedahl won the coveted “Best in Show'' award at Baton Rouge Gallery’s Surreal Salon 15 and was subsequently featured in Juxtapoz Magazine. Arch Enemy Arts began showing Ofstedahl’s work in 2020 after the artist submitted to our open call Spotlight Showcase, hosting his first solo feature in 2022.
