J L King
SAN FRANCISCO
J L King (b. 1973) combines trompe l’oeil finesse with surreal hybridizations to create playful work centered on themes of belonging. Born and raised in San Francisco to a large multiethnic family, King is self-taught as an artist and began exhibiting professionally in 2016 after an early career in health and science. Firmly rooted in fine art traditions, she brings a contemporary pop humor to her tender portraits and still lifes that is a celebration of nature and a joy to behold.
