CAROLINE DEWISON

ANEMOIA

solo exhibition

October 2nd - November 1st, 2026

Opening Reception: Friday, October 2nd, 2026

Arch Enemy Arts presents ANEMOIA by Caroline Dewison, our second solo feature with the England-based artist and a series of eighteen miniature dioramas—eight ‘illuminated works’ featuring fiber-optic, battery-powered lights and ten ‘standard works’—all inspired by “nostalgia for a time or place one has never known.” In this collection, Dewison tells us that each of her signature UFOs hovers above a distant, fantasy landscape to represent visitors traveling to each imagined place for the first time. “There is no sign of occupants,” she writes. “They are visitors on their own.”

Dewison’s work has become well-known and highly sought-after, but this series marks a distinct evolution and experimentation within her practice. Each frame was custom-designed, 3D printed, then finished by hand to resemble the texture of weathered stone. Some of the interiors are lined with mirrors, creating the illusion of an infinite expanse, while others glow with fiber optic cable lights to look like starry skies. The effect is magical, bringing Dewison’s wondrous little worlds even more to life, and stoking our imaginations past the confines of each intimate frame.

“My work is inspired by combining all of the things I love…the natural world, stars, space, fantasy art, and the otherworldly. I love to notice the tiny things, and I love to look at the stars.”

Caroline Dewison (b. 1977) is a self-taught British artist specialising in the creation of miniature dioramas. Her work transports viewers into magical worlds, where myth and reality intertwine. Drawing inspiration from the natural world and blending it with elements of science fiction, Dewison creates intricate miniature worlds that invite viewers to suspend their disbelief and delve into new realms. She currently works from her studio in the North West of England where she lives with her husband and two children. ANEMOIA is Dewison’s second solo feature with Arch Enemy Arts.
