For the past year, we’ve been waiting patiently to finally announce a new show theme we’ve been baking for a while…

 

The concept of giving artists the same object to customize isn’t new to galleries, but we wanted to create something that hasn’t been done AND felt uniquely ours. Inspired by comics, storyboards, and film strips, we workshopped a custom triptych panel: three rounded rectangles carved into a single birch surface. We wanted to start smaller for this show, so we handed that same custom cut surface to 14 carefully selected artists we knew would understand the assignment. No theme. No prompt. No orientation suggestion. Just the same surface and the freedom to make it their own.

 

We knew the idea had potential and hoped it would inspire narrative and sequential works, but we had no idea what would actually come back. Then, after a long waiting game, the panels started arriving and it felt like opening gifts we’d been waiting months to unwrap. Every artist took the format in a totally different direction, completely exceeding our expectations and reminding us that there’s never just one way to tell a story.

INSEPARABLE will be on view from July 25th - August 16th, 2026
Sold works will begin to ship the week starting August 23rd, unless other rush shipping arrangements have been made.
