Vanessa Michiels
TORONTO
Vanessa Michiels combines vivid, hyperrealistic portraiture with popsurreal glitch, graphic shapes, and vintage camp glamour. Inspired by old Hollywood, sci-fi, kitsch, and the fashion magazines of her childhood, Michiels creates vibrant, layered works that reimagine femininity through fragmented faces, saturated colors, and surreal compositional shifts.
Michiels is based in Toronto and graduated from OCAD in 2016 with a degree in Illustration. Active in the vibrant Toronto art community for many years, Michiels began exhibiting with Arch Enemy Arts in 2024 after submitting to our Spotlight Showcase.
