Richard Ahnert

TORONTO

Richard Ahnert is an award-winning artist known for his anthropomorphic characters that explore intimate, emotional narratives of contemporary life. Full of light and depth, his naturalistic work draws on classical storytelling with satirical twists, setting moods that are at once playful and solemn, epic and lighthearted, mirroring the complexity of what it means to be human (and animal) in the world today.

Ahnert studied Technical Illustration and Graphic Design at York University and Seneca College. His work is exhibited and collected around the world and has been heavily featured in print and digital publications. Ahnert began showing with Arch Enemy Arts in 2017 and hosted his fourth solo feature with the gallery in 2026.
