Perrilla

SPAIN

Perrilla (b. 1981) is a Galician pop-surrealist painter and sculptor, who creates whimsical yet emotionally charged images of characters and scenes from what she calls “The Mirror Universe.” In Perrilla’s world, legged and winged caterpillar-snakes join giant one-eyed kittens, pterodactyls, and angel-demons, who swirl around pink-haired, cherub-faced girls like friendly sidekicks full of fantasy, vulnerability, and play. She writes, “The Mirror Universe is a magical and anachronistic place without borders, where emotions become characters and coexist with fantastical creatures.”

Perrilla is based in A Coruña in the Northwest of Spain. She studied Graphic Arts at IES Calvo Stelo and Illustration at the Pablo Picasso School of Arts but is self-taught with regard to oil painting and felted wool sculpture. Perrilla has exhibited in galleries across Spain, Portugal, the US, and the UK, and she creates illustrations for children’s books, posters, workshops, and animations. Perrilla began showing with AEA in 2024 and celebrated her first solo feature in February, 2026.
