Paul Romano

PHILADELPHIA, PA

Paul Romano is an acclaimed artist renowned for his artistic presence in heavy metal, rock, and death metal circles. Rigorously representational yet inlaid with abstract narrative symbolism, Romano’s work employs a range of media–graphite, ink, oil, wood, cyanotype, and gum bichromate photography–to conjure complex emotions and spiritual reckonings, encouraging viewers to explore the depths of human experience and psychological profundity.

Romano studied at Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art and the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. He has worked with many bands across multiple albums including Mastodon, dälek, Hate Eternal, The Red Chord, Withered, Trivium, Godflesh, and Relapse Records to name a few. One of the gallery’s longest and most exhibited artists, Arch Enemy Arts is proud to have carried Romano’s work since 2014, appearing in nearly thirty group exhibitions to-date.
