Lori Nelson

UPSTATE NEW YORK

Lori Nelson (b. 1968) paints monster-humanoid adolescent characters exploring nature, technology, and their unique personal powers. From science fiction to magic realism and traditional portraiture to story-book illustration, Nelson’s combination of genres and styles has made her work a staple in New Contemporary popsurrealism.

Nelson graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Fine Arts. Now based in the Catskill Mountains of New York, she has exhibited her work in galleries and museums across the country and around the world. Nelson began exhibiting with Arch Enemy Arts in 2014 and went on to be featured by such publications as Vice, Hi-Fructose, Juxtapoz and Beautiful Bizarre. Lori celebrated her second solo feature with the gallery in 2025.
