Kristen Egan

READING, PA

Mixed media artist Kristen Egan creates contemporary folk art. Her work, as serious and stunning as it is whimsical and warm, recalls a personal, ancient mythos inspired by fauna native to the artist’s home state. Seamlessly executed through assemblage of local farm-picked gourds, paperclay, and acrylics with additions of materials like wood, leather, string, and bells, each piece exudes the artist’s authenticity and celestial imagination.

Egan graduated Magna Cum Laude from the SUNY College of Ceramics at Alfred University. Her work is collected internationally, and the artist boasts countless sold out exhibitions at galleries around the world. Arch Enemy Arts is proud to be the first major New Contemporary Art gallery to feature Egan’s work in 2012. She has since participated in more than twenty shows with the gallery, including six solo features.
