Jordan Kressley

PHILADELPHIA, PA

Jordan Kressley is a local illustrator working in chalk pastel to brilliantly capture and illuminate  the interconnectivity of the natural world. Kressley commands this delicate medium by applying layers of soft pastel atop black color field backgrounds to achieve a range of tonal values, creating high-contrast images that seem to glow and reveal the true magic of nature.

Kressley studied Illustration and Creative Writing at Moore College of Art & Design in Philadelphia, and in addition to her illustrative gallery work, her adept hand can be seen around Philadelphia in countless local sign paintings as well as published companion pieces alongside poetic works. Arch Enemy Arts is proud to have been the first major New Contemporary gallery to carry Kressley’s work in more than ten group shows after accepting her through our open call Spotlight Showcase in 2020.
