Jake Messing

Jake Messing is an acrylic painter and muralist, who masterfully employs chiaroscuro–the marriage of light and shadow–to render a dangerous and alluring beauty out of the darkness. His incredible technical skill as a realist painter allows Messing to create credible compositions out of disparate objects, animals, and elements from the natural world, offering examples of New Contemporary Surrealism at its finest.

Messing attended Parsons School of Design in NYC where he studied illustration and graduated with Honors. In addition to exhibiting internationally, Messing has created specific work for luxury brands such as Harry Winston, Bergdorf Goodman, and Tiffany & Co., among others. His work has been featured in Architectural Digest, and he has earned awards at the London International Creative Competition and the International Society of Acrylic Painters (Best in Show). Arch Enemy Arts is proud to have represented Messing in multiple exhibitions since 2018.
