Domina
NEWFOUNDLAND
Domina is a Canadian popsurreal oil painter, whose work explores figurative, candy-coated worlds full of deviant symbolism and ambiguous narratives. Often through child-like and adolescent subjects, Domina’s softly rendered work explores duality, vulnerability, and voyeuristic pleasure in swirling compositions that are expansive and diverse yet uniquely her own.
Born Kate Domina, the artist works under her surname and has training from University of Toronto, Sheridan College, and Ontario College of Art and Design. After leaving Toronto, she designed and built a coastal home and studio on the island of Newfoundland, Canada, where she currently lives and works.
