Alex Sugar

Alex Sugar (Australian, b.1990) is a self-taught acrylic realism painter and muralist with a background in street art and graffiti. Sugar combines still lifes, flora and fauna into sophisticated yet surreal compositions. His precise use of light, color, and texture render impossible scenes with lifelike accuracy, pushing us to see our world in new and unexpected ways. Alex Sugar began showing with Arch Enemy Arts in 2021 after submitting to our Spotlight Showcase, and we hosted his first solo feature with the gallery in 2024.
