Alex Eckman-Lawn

PHILADELPHIA, PA

Alex Eckman-Lawn creates macabre illustrations in hand-cut paper collage. Multi-layered and dimensional, he constructs his work as an architect of mysterious portals, drawing viewers into dark depths and ghostly terrains. His interlaced images recall spooky memories, dreams (or nightmares) that feel both organized and chaotic, dark and enticing.

Eckman-Lawn studied Illustration at University of the Arts in Philadelphia. He exhibits his work extensively across the country, and his illustrations have appeared in comic books, on album covers, book covers, T-shirts, music videos, newspapers, and posters. He was also featured in the most recent publication of The Age of Collage Vol. 3. Eckman-Lawn has been showing his work with Arch Enemy Arts since 2014, appearing in nearly 30 group shows to date.
