THOMAS ASCOTT

FRIENDS OF THE FOREST

solo exhibition

November 17th - December 17th, 2023

Opening Reception: Friday, December 1st from 5pm - 9pm

Arch Enemy Arts presents FRIENDS OF THE FOREST, the fifth solo exhibition by artist Thomas Ascott. A mix of handsomely framed oil paintings and graphite drawings, the series features curious companions and unlikely friends lovingly rendered to be as strange as they seem sweet.

Safe in the shade of their hidden forests, Ascott’s creatures bask in their eccentricities, unphased by any sense of status quo. Their cute camaraderie frees them and reminds us that everybody needs a friend.

Thomas Ascott is a self-taught painter, who grew up in Eastern Tennessee. Inspired by the Smoky Mountains, he creates intricate fantasies set in the forest with incredible attention to light and detail. Ascott exhibits his work internationally and has been heavily featured in Beautiful Bizarre and Hi-Fructose magazines. Ascott has been showing with Arch Enemy Arts since 2017.
