Arch Enemy Arts is proud to announce the debut of Whisper Forest, Michael Camarra's first exclusive solo exhibition here at AEA.
There is always a mystique to the wild, a place that can be either brimming with adventure or a place of dark foreboding in its isolation from society. This show is meant to play with that duality. Deeply influenced by the occult and mysticism, these pieces aim to set up their own mythology. Landmarks buzz with energy, inviting the viewer to come deeper into this world and come across its otherworldly occupants.
Michael was born and raised in Southern Connecticut before leaving to study at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, where he currently lives and works. Through his work, Michael uses figures and a vibrant palette to explore his fascination with mythology and the unseen in the context of our connection to nature.
Michael's first exhibition with AEA was his acceptance into the 2019 Open Call Showcase. Following that he made contributions to group shows through the year; Fauna (May 2019), Summer '19 (July 2019), Periodic Table Of Elements (August 2019), and Small Wonders 9 (November 2019).
