PECA

BLUES & BIRDS

feature exhibition

Opening November 19th, 2021

Arch Enemy Arts is pleased to present Blues and Birds, an exciting new series by the ever-enchanting Argentinian artist, Peca. A feature of eight drawings made manifest from Peca’s own subconscious, she utilizes emergent color to convey whimsical forms from inky blackness.

On the subjects in these works, she writes:

“These birds have migrated from somewhere in the universe to my subconscious and have materialized in the drawing. They will fly to Philadelphia and then to the home that welcomes them, and they will multiply and continue to travel in the minds of all that see them: this is why I consider them a band of migratory birds.

The name of the show is a play on the words -and concept-“the color blue, melancholy and music.”

Peca’s words are as poetic as the birds presented in her drawings, each is nothing short of mystical. The meticulous textures she renders in colored pencil create a transportant world upon the black boards where these creatures exist. The surreal and fantastic nature of her work is hallmark, each piece as captivating as the last.

PECA's feature BLUES & BIRDS will be physically on view from November 19th - December 19th, 2021.
Sold works will begin to ship the week of December 27th unless other rush shipping arrangements have been made.
