Holy Water is a new collection of gouache and watercolors by Kit Mizeres, created while she and her work travels the country for shows and projects.
A simplified and nomadic life heavily influences her recent work. Kit’s paintings are wild and surreal, illustrations that are heavily inspired by the sort of imagery that you can imagine accompanied ancient folklore as a way to tell her own personal stories and internal struggles, and to retell the stories and conversation she’s with new strangers she has met on the road. While perpetually on the move, and with an ever changing set of faces, even the most random dialogues often place new bits of imagery into her mind which she often will use later for inspiration, and in a way become part of her own story and her own journey.
“I think it is to combine those direct artistic inspirations in with your own personal life experiences, and in that way, it really makes it all the more yours and not something that is second-hand.”
Kit Mizeres was last sighted in Savannah, GA.
