The Scattering Season
April 16th, 2021
Arch Enemy Arts is pleased to present The Scattering Season, the gallery’s fourth exclusive collection from Buffalo based doom-folk artist, Joe Vollan.
Through inspiration taken from traditional folklore and popular children's fairytales, Joe has built and imagined his own collection of stories and characters fit for a much darker, and more twisted, doomed world.
With seven new pieces in The Scattering Season series, Joe spins a brand new tall tale about the one fateful night, each year in April on the full moon, where a group of hungry rabbits gather to summon a cursed Pooka (scarecrow) for the harvest. In bringing the Pooka to life, a spell is cast on all the carrots underground in the surrounding fields, changing them to tiny, ravenous creatures that claw their way to the surface. Taking note of the abundance of food for feasting, the rabbits are infiltrated by two new sketchy characters dressed in disguises - The Poacher, and The Collector. Now, with the harvest alive and ripe for the picking, the hunt begins!
THE SCATTERING SEASON will be physically on view from April 19th - May 21st, 2021.
Sold works will begin to ship the week of May 24th unless other rush shipping arrangements have been made.
All pieces marked with a red dot have been sold.
