solo exhibition

Arch Enemy Arts is pleased to present a solo feature by UK artist Craww entitled: PASSAGE. An enrapturing body of work, the show debuts 10 original and figurative works, each intricately detailed in graphite on exquisite Fabriano paper.

Based in Sheffield, England, Craww has worked to develop his definitive style since deciding to pursue art as a career, actively showing his work in galleries since 2010. On the driving force behind his process the artist writes:

“My work is an ongoing exploration of my thoughts and inspirations, my ideas develop over time, with narratives that evolve from one piece to another. There's a constant thread that runs through my work so I tend not to see a body of work in isolation, It exists as part of a story rather than being a standing alone collection.”

The illustrations presented in Passages are peculiar and defining, purely emblematic of Craww’s distinctive ability in crafting entrancing scenes. Playing up the sculptural elements of the human figure, Craww activates his compositions– emphasizing geometric angles while elegantly utilizing the abstractive quality of negative space. Typical of his imaginative concepts, the works are fantastical, bringing to the forefront a narrative juxtaposition of death and beauty. In each work there are moments that are tight and rendered, at others loose and economical, showcasing a refined technical understanding of ebb and flow, itself an allegory to the enigmatic stories that Craww presents.

PASSAGE is Craww’s third solo feature with Arch Enemy Arts, coming after 2021’s A Way Home.
